NA 2008 Keynote To Address Business Case For Supply Chain Sustainability

Andrew Winston, Corporate Environmental Strategist and Author of Green to Gold to Keynote NA 2008

(July 30, 2007-Charlotte, NC) Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) announced today that Andrew Winston, co-author of Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value, and Build Competitive Advantage will be the Keynote speaker at NA 2008.

Climate change, rising energy costs, an increasingly stringent regulatory environment and added stakeholder pressures are driving the material handling & logistics industry to step up their thinking about the greening of the supply chain. The NA 2008 Keynote entitled Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value, and Build High Performance Supply Chains will provide a compelling blueprint for how forward thinking companies can address critical environmental issues, from climate change to energy to water, and improve their supply chain performance, gain competitive advantage, and increase profits.

Winston will lay out the forces coming to bear, called the Green Wave, including the pressures for greener supply chains driven by large companies in all industries, but particularly Wal-Mart. Attendees will come away with strategies that utilize environmental thinking to create high performance supply chains, drive new revenues, enhance brand value, cut costs, and reduce risk.

Andrew Winston is a nationally recognized expert on green business, and has written for or appeared in Time, BusinessWeek, Forbes, The New York Times, ABC News, and CNBC. He has consulted for companies as diverse as Bank of America, and IKEA and is a well-known speaker to Fortune 500 company executives and conferences around the world. He draws on his real-world business experience, as well as his unique level of knowledge on the overlap between environment and business. His earlier career included advising companies on corporate strategy while at Boston Consulting Group and management positions in strategy and marketing at Time Warner and MTV.

NA 2008 Kicks Off With Record-Breaking Exhibit Spacedraw

Over 250 exhibitors reserve over 125,000 net square feet
(CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, January 29, 2007)--More than 250 exhibitors selected over 125,000 net square feet of exhibit space at the NA 2008 Exhibit Spacedraw. The NA 2008 Spacedraw was held on January 10, 2007 during ProMat 2007 in Chicago, IL and launches a campaign that extends into early 2008. "It was a record-breaking spacedraw with 250 exhibitors claiming more than 90% the total size of the NA 2006 event with over one year to go," according to Tom Carbott, Vice President of Sales for Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA). Plans to expand the NA 2008 show floor to accommodate demand are already under way, according to Carbott.

ABOUT THE EVENT

NA 2008 focuses on the supply chain solutions provided by material handling and logistics. The four-day event will be the most comprehensive showcase of material handling and logistics equipment, systems and technologies in the United States in 2008.
