Dan Whitnable is the Manager of Engineering at Lands' End, a leading retail apparel supplier with worldwide sales of over $1.5 billion. Since joining Lands End in 1994, he now leads a diverse group responsible for corporate-wide engineering functions, including long range planning, design, and process improvement for five distribution centers in the US, UK, and Japan.
Dan has been instrumental in the implementation of real-time, high speed transaction processing and high volume sortation methods, and holds a patent for the non-discrete multi-stage sortation process used at Lands End.
Previously, Dan worked at Rapistan and then at Alvey Systems. He attended UW-Madison and has a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California.
